well, there is also a lot of art in this category. Sad enough these films don't usually have a lot of exposure... at least not for the masses. But I think that the music videos are as the music. The popular ass-wiggling popshit is in our face all the time, but the good stuff (everybody has their taste ofcourse) ... you just have to look for it. In music and in music videos.

About the favourites. This is one of mine...

'Come to Daddy' by Aphex Twin. What can I say?

Terrifying and hilarious at the same time, I don't know why Cunningham has yet to direct a movie.

Empire said the lottery had given him a grant (something stupid like ?92,000) and he has said himself that he was looking at adapting a William Gibson novel, but now...nothing.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">yeah he's working on an adaptation of neuromancer.

given the influence that ridley scott has obviously had on him i think it would be absolutely stunning, visually at least.

Haven't really watched music videos or MTV since my teen years...uh...the eighties. I've seen a few though...I remember several Bjork videos that were entertaining and interesting, which led me to more by Spike Jonze that I liked as well.

I don't know whay you say music videos are ads...Unless your talking about product placement.......The point of music videos now is still to promote singles, but after MTV and Much Music here in Canada came in, the video took heirarcy over the music, thats what is also the problem with these things...

Of course Music-Videos are ads...They sell the music but more importantly they sell the band and they sell an image of that band.

    Good Luck

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think there is also music videos that are mostly "art" and not commercials... but you can never see them at commercial channels like MTV or MuchMusic. Why would you?

What i meant by "promote the single", i guess is advertising, but thats what i was saying....It's not like thay are like "Available at your local hmv" after each thing, but still they are only promotions...
